Director - Andi Bonura

Mrs. Bonura began her dance career at the age of 5, taking ballet and tap.  After a few years, she took a break, deciding to focus on her growth in Brownies until a doctor's visit concluded she needed to get back into dance to help straighten a crooked spine or look into surgery.  Her parents chose dance class where she remained in the studio for 9 years, becoming a member of the Ballet Company and performing on pointe in such performances as The Nutcracker and Cinderella.  Her family then moved to Houston where she attended Jersey Village High School, dancing as a Gold Duster and becoming an officer.  After graduating, she attended the University of Houston, starting out as an Elementary Education major and being a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.  After a two year absence from dance, she signed up for a ballet and modern class.  After realizing that dance was not going to leave her heart, she switched majors and graduated with a Kinesiology and Dance degree.  While at U of H, she choreographed for the Student Concert as well as Frontier Fiesta and received numerous awards at various campus events.  She was an active member of the Dance Department and a charter member and officer of the Kinesiology Club, participating in multiple activities including Intramural sports where she pitched her team to the Sorority League Championship, thanks in part to her childhood surrounded by four brothers and a father who were all active and encouraging in sports throughout her life.  After college, she was immediately recruited to create the dance program and write the curriculum at a new magnet school in Aldine ISD.   She taught there for one year and then took over as drill team director at Tomball High School where she has been since 1997.  While directing at Tomball, her team has won numerous awards and honors, including being repeatedly invited to perform at Disney World.  She has been selected as a Who's Who Among America's Teacher 4 times and is a member of TDEA.  She has choreographed for her team as well as local area teams and as been an adjudicator for the past 10 years.  She is married to Thomas and the adopted "mommy" to 4 kitties named Sassy, CC, Casey and Little Bear.
